Death toll in Multan warehouse explosion rises to seven

The death toll from the explosion at a fireworks warehouse in Multan’s Delhi Gate area has risen to seven after three more bodies were recovered from the rubble of a collapsed building. 


According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, rescue operations were ongoing at the site on Tuesday morning as teams from Rescue 1122, district administration, and police continued their efforts to find any additional victims.


Last Saturday, an explosion at a fireworks warehouse caused a three-storey building to collapse in Aghapura, Multan. Initially, four people were confirmed dead, while six others were pulled from the debris with injuries. 


The victims who lost their lives in the initial aftermath were identified as 55-year-old Safiya, 40-year-old Mansha, 22-year-old Irsa, and an unidentified man.


The dead bodies have been transferred to Nishtar Hospital, while officials expressed a fear that more bodies may still be trapped under the debris of the fireworks warehouse.


The injured individuals, including Najma Bibi, Fayyaz, Rehan, and Ejaz, have been shifted to the hospital for treatment.
