The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa chapter has summoned Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Moulana Fazl-ur-Rehman in assets beyond means case, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
NAB office in Peshawar summoned the JUI-F chief next week.
Reacting on the NAB’s summons, JUI-F leader Hafiz Hamdullah said that Moulana Fazal-ur-Rehman is being targeted as part of revengeful purposes.
JUI-F leader said: “We have not decided yet whether to appear before NAB or not.” He vowed JUIF will not leave its stance.
He said the summoning of his party chief was necessary after the oppositions’ All Parties Conference (APC).
“If Fazal-ur-Rehman will be arrested that there will be a ‘dama dam mast Qalandar’,” he said.
JUI-F leader said his party is challenging the government and its facilitators that JUI-F is ready.
He alleged that NAB is being utilized for political purposes.
It is pertinent to note that on 29 July, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) sought the property record of JUI-F chief Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman and his family members.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa office of NAB then asked the Peshawar deputy commissioner to submit the required record as it came into action over an application filed by some unidentified person.
Meanwhile, the NAB also went after his two brothers – Senator Maulana Atta-ur-Rehman and Maulana Lutf-ur-Rehman – as the property affairs are also to be probed.
