The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Wednesday directed its technical committee to develop a fault-free electronic voting machine (EVM).
According to the 24News HD TV channel, a special meeting to discuss the preparations for the next general elections was held in the ECP office in Islamabad.
The meeting was briefed about the different issues related to the next general elections scheduled in 2023 and their preparations.
In the meeting, the ECP directed the technical committee to complete the review on the EVM as soon as possible.
The ECP also decided to launch a door-to-door campaign for verification of the voter lists before the next general elections.
The ECP also decided to convene the general elections review meeting every Tuesday.
During the meeting, the ECP directed to rectify the deficiencies in RTS and RMS for the forthcoming general elections.
The meeting was attended by the ECP Secretary, Special Secretary and members of all wings.
