Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has laid stress on promoting interfaith harmony, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Thursday.
Addressing the Sikh pilgrims in Kartarpur, he highlighted the importance of Kartapur, saying this is the holy place where Baba Guru Nanak spent his last 18 years.
He shed light on Baba Guru Nanak’s teachings, saying Baba Guru Nanak spread the message of humanity and peace.
“He taught Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs and Christians to gather on one platform,” the minister maintained adding that protecting all minorities living in Pakistan is one of the top priorities of the government."
He continued: “The government of Pakistan welcomes Sikh pilgrims from India and all over the world to Kartarpur.
“Even if 10,000 Sikhs come from India, they will be provided with better facilities.
"We should shun mutual differences and promote peace.
"I will convey the demands of the Sikh pilgrims to the prime minister of Pakistan.”
