Jahangir Khan Tareen, estranged senior leader of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has returned to Lahore from Islamabad without a meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan

However, Tareen held meetings with different ministers and members of the National Assembly during his Islamabad visit. As a result of these meetings, Federal Minister for States and Frontier Regions Sahibzada Mehboob Sultan too has come out in Tareen’s support openly. He said that conspiracies within the party would be fought against with unity.

Earlier, Punjab ministers Ajmal Cheema and Nauman Langrial have expressed their support for Tareen openly and unequivocally. Tareen enjoys the support of 25 members of the Punjab Assembly and 15 Members of the National Assembly. According to sources, some senior leaders of the PTI also stand by Tareen.

However, a meeting of Tareen and his group members with Prime Minister Imran Khan is expected soon. Some senior leader of the PTI are actively working to arrange a meeting between Tareen and the prime minister soon. There are chances they will succeed in getting time for a meeting between the two sides today (April 23).
