Turkish digital creator and social media influencer Turkan Atay shared videos on her Instagram handle, disclosing the reality of renowned Pakistani fashion designer Maria B.
As Turkan worked with Maria B for their brand, but in return, they did not pay her for the photoshoot she did in Turkey for the promotion of their clothing brand, and now they are also not responding to her messages.
Turkan revealed the whole story on her social media and said it's not only a matter of money; she has self-respect, and if they pay her now, she will give all the money to the needy people.
In her video message, Turkan said, “I told you in my stories that I had been facing issues with a brand named Maria B, but you didn’t believe me. In 2025, she approached me again for a photoshoot in Turkey. Here in Turkey, we have a different setup for shoots — we have to pay for the venue, model, and other elements per outfit. That’s why I charged her per dress, because I had to cover all expenses, including the location, venue, etc.”
Turkan added, “I gave her my quotation and have all the messages as proof. I did the shoot, made the video, and posted everything on social media. She paid me a lump sum, but I had clearly told her that I charge per dress. Later, they claimed there must have been a misunderstanding because they usually pay based on reels. It’s been three months now — they’ve been wasting my time and treating me like a fool. Please return my money. That is my money, and I have every right to do whatever I want with it. I will never work with you again. I’m extremely angry at your unprofessional attitude.”
"The main thing that matters for us influencers is our self-respect, and when brands like these ignore our messages after the work has been delivered and don’t give the payment due to us, and now you have the audacity to say that I'm doing this for cheap publicity and views. The fact is, it's your brand and you are responsible for your team's actions. I think you get upset to hear the reality. I am sorry, keep the change with you, just learn how to behave with others, bye", she captioned the video.
Turkan completed her studies in Pakistan and married a Pakistani man named Zaka, who was her university fellow and friend. Many also call her Pakistani Bhabhi. She boasts a substantial Instagram following of 853 K. Turkan creates digital content in the Urdu language and has a large following from Pakistan.
Maria B has also replied to Turkan Atay’s non-payment issues, saying, “At MARIA.B., we have always valued our partnerships with creators, models, and influencers, and we take pride in conducting our business with integrity, transparency, and respect for the creative community.
Over the years, we have successfully collaborated with hundreds of influencers and content creators, ensuring fair compensation and mutual respect in all engagements. And we are proudly known for our best payment practices. In our 25 years, we have neither withheld payment nor retracted from our commitments. In the recent case involving a content creator, there was a regrettable misunderstanding that we were committed to resolving. At no point was the payment denied. A meeting had been set up to address the issue, but the influencer chose to make a defaming reel instead of accepting to resolve the issue amicably. We regret the misunderstanding. We remain committed to supporting the creative community and continuing to build respectful, transparent relationships with all our collaborators. Team MARIA.B.
Have a look at Turkan's post wearing Maria B's outfit, and she also wrote the caption in which she said the dress can also be flaunted while wearing a hijab.
Here is what she wrote, "This is a slap for that brand who doesn’t want to collab because of my scarf dress can be shown in a beautiful way with scarf as well... SCARF SHOULD NOT BE A PROBLEM."
