The so-called fourth wave of coronavirus continues to wreak havoc in Pakistan as many as 80 more people succumbed to coronavirus and 3,772 new cases emerged during the last 24 hours (Sunday), showed the data released by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Monday morning.
According to the statistics released by NCOC, after the addition of 80 new deaths, the toll has now surged to 25,003, which represents a ratio of 2.2 percent.
The positivity ratio of the coronavirus cases in Pakistan has reached 7 percent, as 3,772 new coronavirus cases emerged in the last 24 hours after conducting 53,881 tests. It takes the total cases tally to 1,127,584 that returned positive after conducting 17,276,450 total tests so far.
The number of active cases in the country is 8,828 with 5,390 patients in critical condition.
There were 3,107 more recoveries recorded in the last 24 hours as the number of total recovered cases reached 1,012,662 with an 89.8% recovery rate.
Punjab
Punjab, the most populous province of the country, has reported 1,270 new cases in the last 24 hours, taking the provincial tally to 380,844 with 23,425 active cases. In Punjab, 30 more patients died of coronavirus as the death toll reached 11,557. With 1,012 new recoveries, 345,862 patients have recovered from the virus in Punjab so far.
Sindh
Sindh has recorded 1,145 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the provincial tally to 420,955 with 47,868 active cases. With 22 new deaths related to the deadly disease, the death toll in Sindh reached 6,612. With 740 new recoveries, 366,475 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has recorded 783 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 157,148 with 7,658 active cases. The province reported 25 new virus-related deaths as the death toll reached 4,797. With 561 new recoveries, 144,693 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.
Balochistan
Balochistan has recorded another 26 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 31,845 with 522 active cases. The province reported no new death as the death toll remains 335. With 101 new recoveries, 30,988 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.
Islamabad
Islamabad has recorded 360 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 96,390 with 5,603 active cases. With one new death reported in the Federal Capital, the death toll reaches 852. With 232 new recoveries, the number of recovered patients is 89,935 in the federal capital so far.
Azad Jammu and Kashmir
Azad Jammu and Kashmir has recorded 149 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 30,746 with 4,185 active cases. With 2 new deaths reported, the death toll reaches 680. There were 379 new recoveries in the AJK as 25,881 patients have recovered so far from the virus.
Gilgit-Baltistan
Gilgit-Baltistan recorded 39 new cases during the last 24 hours, as the tally reached 9,656 with 658 active cases. With no new death reported in the province as the death toll remains 170. There were 82 new recoveries as the number of patients recovered from the deadly disease reached 8,828.
