Three chairlift trapped students pass 9th class exam

Three students out of seven school students who were trapped in the chairlift in Battagram, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been declared successful in their 9th class results, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to 9th class results announced by the Peshawar educational boards on Tuesday evening, Osama, Niaz Muhammad, and Atta Allah

who were among the trapped persons in a chair lift hanging 274 meters (900 feet) above a ravine in Battagram have been declared passed.  

Osama secured 391 marks, Niaz Muhammad got 412 marks and Atta Allah achieved 442 marks.  

An operation to rescue them has brought fruits as military commandoes along with locals have succeeded in rescuing seven students and one teacher.       

Seven children and one teacher were trapped in a chair lift hanging 900 feet above a ravine in the Sawat area after a cable snapped.

The children, who have been stranded since 7 a.m. local time, were using the chair lift to get to school in a mountainous area in Battagram, about 200 kilometers (125 miles) north of Islamabad.
