The Sindh High Court on Wednesday issued notices to the establishment division secretary and others as it heard a petition against applying quota system to the CSS (Central Superior Services) Exam 2021, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Seeking replies from the respondents, notices were also issued to the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) chairman, law and justice secretary, and deputy attorney general.
According to the petitioner, Tariq Mansoor, the quota system has already expired on August 13, 2013, which is unconstitutional being in violation of Article 9, 18, 25 and 27 (1).
He also argued that the competitive exams should be held on open merit as the quota system is tantamount to discrimination and dividing the society. Moreover, everyone should have equal employment opportunities.
The petitioner says the Establishment Division has issued a notification regarding the CSS exams scheduled for February 2021 and also defined federal and provincial quotas under the CSS Rules 2019.
