The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said on Thursday that cricketer Abid Ali has undergone a second procedure where doctors implanted the second stent and advised him complete rest for the next two months, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In a statement, the PCB said, “Abid underwent a second procedure today. The procedure was successfully completed and he is recovering. PCB medical team is liaising with Interventional Cardiologist regarding further treatment and rehabilitation. Abid is currently stable.”
PCB also requested fans to respect his and the family's privacy at this time and pray for Abid's speedy recovery.

Earlier, Abid Ali appealed for special prayers for his good health from his fans across the world after a successful angioplasty, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
Doctors implanted a stent in Abid Ali’s heart and the test cricketer will remain in the ICU for the next 48 hours after doctors have diagnosed acute coronary syndrome.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said in a statement that Central Punjab opener Abid Ali complained of chest pain during his innings against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy final-round match at the Sports Complex, Karachi Tuesday.
Abid left the batting crease at 61 in Central Punjab’s second innings.
Abid was taken immediately to a cardiac hospital where he was diagnosed with Acute Coronary Syndrome.
He was under the care of a consultant cardiologist who is liaising with the PCB medical team regarding further treatment.
The PCB also requested fans to respect his and the family's privacy at this time.
Abid Ali returned to play for his domestic side Central Punjab after a brilliant outing in the two Tests against Bangladesh. He scored 133 and 91 in the two innings of the first Test in Dhaka and was awarded the Player of the Match in Pakistan's eight-wicket win.
In the second Test, he scored 39 in Pakistan's only innings as the visitors secured a thrilling innings win by 8 wickets to finish a clean sweep. He finished as the highest run-getter in the series and took home the Player of the Series award.
