Pakistani playback singer and actress Noor Jehan passed away on 23 December, 2000 in Karachi.

The lady who is widely acknowledged by the title of 'Malika-e-Tarannum' manages to provoke emotions of deep respect throughout the nation and today as it is the 21st Death Anniversary of the icon who is considered to be one of the most influential music personalities to exist, the late Pakistani star is being remembered with deep sentiments in each household.

Noor Jehan is considered to be the first female Pakistani film director. She was known as Allah Rakhi Wasai and belonged from a Punjabi family.
