President Dr Arif Alvi has approved repealing of punishment for attempted suicide, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
President Alvi on Friday ratified the Criminal Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2022 and Foreign Investment (Promotion and Protection) Amendment Bill, 2022.
Taking to its official Twitter account, the President House announced: “President Dr Arif Alvi approved the Criminal Laws (Amendment) Bill 2022.
“The bill repeals Section 325 of the Pakistan Penal Code, 1860, which deals with the punishment for attempted suicide.
“The President also approved the Foreign Investment (Promotion and Protection) Amendment Bill 2022.
“Section I of the Foreign Investment (Promotion and Protection) Act, 2022 has been amended by the Bill.
“The President approved both the bills under Article 75 of the Constitution.”
