The lawyer of the wife of former lawmaker Jamshed Dasti alleged that the assistant returning officer refused to receive the nomination papers of Mrs Jamshed Dasti, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Friday.
According to sources, the papers could not be submitted because the tax returns were not attached while the wife of Dasti Nazia’s lawyer Shakir Sukhani cried foul.
“We approached the returning officer to submit nomination papers to contest elections from NA-175,” he said, alleging that the assistant returning officer took pictures of documents and WhatsApped somebody the shots.
He added: “Later we were told that they cannot receive our nomination papers today. We are being subjected to discrimination. We are being targeted because we are from the PTI. We are writing a letter to the chief election commissioner to take up the matter with him.”
