The personnel of law enforcement agencies have foiled a terror bid at the Cantt railway station of Karachi, 24NewsHD TV channel reported Friday.
A suspicious sack was found in the Awam Express and the train staff alerted the law enforcement agencies.
The Sindh Rangers, local police and bomb disposal squad rushed to the spot and defused the bomb. The train came from Peshawar.
A couple of days ago the Pakistan Railways resumed the Awam Express service between Karachi and Peshawar after 17 months.
Last year, floods damaged the track of Awam Express, making the authorities shut the service. The restoration took one year and five months.
