All the gates of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) were closed on Saturday a day after it pronounced its reserved verdict regarding PTI’s intra-party elections, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
“We have been instructed from the inside not to let anyone enter the ECP building from the outside,” a security personnel said, confirming the building in inaccessible form all four sides.
Earlier, the ECP had instructed its provincial offices to remain open for receiving nomination papers from candidates desiring to contest the February 8 general elections.
To a query of a visitor, the security guard replied that the ECP gates have been close due to the upcoming three holidays (Saturday, Sunday and Monday) on account of Christmas.
Meanwhile, PTI has not yet received an attested copy of the ECP judgement regarding intra-party elections.
The PTI has applied for providing it the attested copy of the decision last night.
A PTI representative was seen waiting outside the ECP office to get the copy but in vain so far.
