WhatsApp is said to be in the testing phase of a novel feature that allows users to share audio during video calls.

This anticipated WhatsApp feature could potentially provide users with a unique and engaging way to connect, akin to Apple’s FaceTime SharePlay feature.

The functionality is currently available for preview in the WhatsApp Android beta version 2.23.26.18, though it is still undergoing active development and is not yet accessible to beta testers.

To utilize this audio-sharing capability during video calls, users would need to activate the screen-sharing option. The feature extends to all participants in a group call, making it suitable for a collaborative and immersive group experience.

Originally conceived for the iOS version of WhatsApp, this feature has expanded to encompass testing on Android devices. While the exact release date from Meta, WhatsApp’s parent company, remains uncertain, the prospect of a beta release seems imminent, reflecting the platform’s ongoing commitment to innovation.

In parallel developments, WhatsApp is introducing a new feature for beta testers, enabling them to share status updates on companion devices. This enhancement allows users to seamlessly post GIFs, images, and videos as status updates on their secondary companion devices, ensuring a consistent and synchronized experience across all devices, whether they are the primary or companion device.

WhatsApp’s pursuit of feature enhancements and expanded capabilities underscores its dedication to providing users with a dynamic and versatile communication platform. The potential integration of audio sharing during video calls and the ability to share status updates across devices exemplifies WhatsApp’s commitment to diversifying communication options and refining the overall user experience.–itvoice.in
