Murree on Monday received much-awaited first snowfall of current winter season on Monday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The minimum temperature of Murree was record minus one and maximum was 8 degree centigrade.
Earlier, the City Traffic Police ihas introduced comprehensive measures to prevent traffic congestion amid the anticipated surge of tourists visiting the hill station during snowfall.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Murree, Mughees Ahmad Hashmi, stated that approximately 200 traffic wardens have been deployed to manage the expected increase in vehicles. These arrangements aim to ensure smooth traffic flow as tourists flock to Murree and its surrounding areas.
Hashmi emphasized that the directives issued by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the Inspector General of Police, and the Additional Inspector General of Traffic Police would be strictly followed.
He added that certain roads, including View Fourth Road, Bank Road, Hall Road, Kuldana Road, and Imtiaz Shaheed Road, would operate on a one-way traffic system during snowfall.
Additionally, areas such as the vicinity of Habib Bank, General Post Office (GPO) Chowk, Cecil Hotel, and Kuldana Road, as well as Bank Road to Girls Degree College, have been designated parking-free zones to reduce congestion.
