In an interesting turn of events, a woman filed a petition in a local family court in Lahore in which she sought immediate separation from her husband for cheating her for marriage, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
In her petition, the woman stated that her husband namely Salman married her after informing her that he is working as a wagon driver but when she left to meet her in-laws she suddenly came to know that her husband owns a tonga (horse-driven cart) and he is not a wagon driver.
She further said that when she asked him to provide him money for daily expenses he repeatedly declined her request by saying that he has no money as no passenger prefer to travel through tonga.
The woman said that when she protested with her in-laws and informed them about the cheating, her mother-in-law came to his son’s defence, saying her protest is useless as tonga driver is also a driver.
Advocate Shahbaz Bhatti represented the woman in the family court. The court also issued notice to husband Salman and adjourned the hearing of the case till January 17, 2025.
