Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice-President Maryam Nawaz while paying rich tributes to the party stalwart Pervaiz Rashid has said that he is not just a name of an individual but a bright symbol of democracy, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

In a tweet uploaded on Tuesday after the election tribunal rejected Pervaiz Rashid’s appeal against the rejection of his nomination papers for the Senate election, Maryam Nawaz declared Pervaiz Rashid as a party asset. “He is a name of thought, an ideology and such symbols always remain alive in history,” Maryam Nawaz said in the tweet.

“Pervaiz Rashid will continue to be an asset not only for the party but also for national politics as a trusted ally of Nawaz Sharif and a veteran soldier of democracy,” the PML-N vice-president said. 

“Such leaders always live. He will continue to be ex-Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's trustworthy companion,” she added.
