It appears that the ‘Jail Bharo’ movement has failed to gain momentum in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) as six PTI leaders and some workers surrendered to police in Peshawar, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

As far as other parts of the province are concerned, PTI workers there too don’t seem much excited.

Most of the party leaders have preferred to stay away from the movement.

Former National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser also presented him for the arrest.

In Matta, Swat, the announcement was made from a police van parked outside the former KP chief minister Mahmood Khan that if any worker was willing to turn himself into police, the van was ready to pick him up and take him to the police station.

On the other hand, local administration in Dera Ismael Khan, Kohat, Peshawar, Mardan, Charsadda, Malakand, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Tank, North and South Waziristan has imposed section 144 in all districts to discourage the assemblage of PTI workers and leaders.

Moreover, barracks have been cleaned in all jails of the province to accommodate political prisoners.

In Peshawar, former MP Fazl Elahi ran away from the prison van after getting the PTI workers arrested.

No ex-MPA or MNA, worker or any other officials of PTI surrendered in Mardan. Seeing the prison vehicles, many workers were left in a daze from the Mardan Sports Complex.

PTI’ district Mardan president Mujahid Khan issued a message to his workers complaining the workers did not reach for the court arrests.

In the message, Mujahid Khan also urged the MPA candidates to reach the spot and save the party form from embarrassment.

In Malakand, workers also showed disinterest in the Jail Bharo Movement as no arrests were made by any leader or activist across the district. Ex-provincial minister Shakeel Khan, ex-MPA Pir Maswar also remained absent.

Dozens of PTI workers reached Landi Kotal police station to surrender before police voluntarily but no arrests have been made by the administration yet.

In Taunsa and Sakhi Sarwar, no PTI worker turned up for the arrest Jail filling movement failed in Taunsa. No worker came to arrest him. Taunsa Police

In Swat, Police reached in front of the house of former PTI MNAs and MPAs after they announced to voluntarily surrender before police.

MNA Saleemur Rehman did not come out from his home despite announcements being made by the police. DSP Attaullah said if Saleem Rehman wanted to be arrested, the police is there.

However, his secretary told that the MNA has been arrested by Gul Bahar Police Station in Peshawar.
