Legendary cricketer Javed Miandad has stated that the government in power significantly influences the cricket board and its decisions, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.

Speaking at a ceremony in Karachi on Monday, he hinted at the symbiotic relationship between political leadership and cricket administration.

Miandad highlighted the unique challenges faced by cricket in Pakistan, underscoring the need for concerted efforts to promote the sport's growth in the country.

He stressed the importance of working towards the advancement of cricket and identified the Sindh Premier League (SPL) as a potential catalyst for nurturing talent in the region.

Miandad commended the initiative, suggesting that through SPL, players from Sindh would benefit, contributing to the broader development of cricket.

Responding to a journalist's query about a potential leader who could steer the country towards progress, Miandad asserted his readiness to guide anyone willing to champion the cause of cricket.

Moin Khan, former captain speaking on the occasion, expressed confidence that the SPL would establish itself as a trendsetter across the nation.

Misbah Ul Haq, the Hyderabad Badshahs head coach welcomed the platform provided by the league, offering young players a chance to showcase their skills and potentially secure a place in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Meanwhile, the head coach of Benazir Abad Lals, Abdul Razzaq, expressed his desire for the SPL's success, emphasizing its significance for the cricketing landscape in Sindh.

Adding a linguistic touch, Pakistan's fast bowler, Shahnawaz Dhani lightened the mood by choosing to converse in Sindhi during the interaction. This diverse exchange of perspectives and aspirations signifies the cricketing fervor and optimism surrounding initiatives like the Sindh Premier League.
