Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi has stated that US President Donald Trump symbolises hope for global peace, and under his leadership, US-Pakistan relations could gain a new dimension.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi held separate meetings with US Congressmen Joe Wilson and Rob Bresnahan, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel on Thursday.

The meetings included extensive discussions on matters of mutual interest, enhancing US-Pakistan relations, and fostering sustainable peace in the region, with a particular focus on the Afghanistan situation.

During these discussions, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi termed President Trump’s remarks as highly encouraging for promoting global peace and resolving conflicts.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi emphasised that the United States is Pakistan’s most significant strategic partner and highlighted the decades-long relationship between the two nations.

He expressed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening ties with the USA and stressed the importance of increasing exchanges of trade and cultural delegations between the two countries.

The discussions also covered ways to boost collaboration in various sectors and address the issues faced by overseas Pakistanis. Mohsin Naqvi assured his full cooperation at all levels for enhancing US-Pakistan relations and extended an invitation to the congressmen to visit Pakistan.

Pakistan's ambassador to the US, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, was also present during the meetings.

Yesterday, Mohsin Naqvi met with US Congressmen Thomas Richard Suozzi and Jack Bergman in Washington and appreciated the assistance the US had provided to Pakistan in different sectors.

He reiterated Pakistan’s intention to expand collaboration with the US further. He expressed hope that the congressmen’s visit to Pakistan would help strengthen bilateral relations.

On this occasion, Congressman Suozzi said that the US is committed to further improving relations with Pakistan and confirmed his plans to visit the country soon.

The meeting also discussed mutual interests, including Afghanistan and plans for holding a Pakistan Caucus in Washington on April 30.
