Swedish Ambassador Alexandra Berg van Linde called on Power Minister Awais Ahmed Leghari to discuss mutual cooperation, reported 24NewsHDTV channel.
During the meeting, Power Minister sought help and cooperation from Swedish government in renewable energy, conversion of fuel vehicles to electric vehicles. He demanded that European Union Green Funds should provide support to convert vehicles in Pakistan on electric. Awais Leghari said Swedish government and EU green funds can provide interest-free loans through Pakistani banks.
He said Pakistan government was committed to promote renewable energy as during 2024, 55 percent of the country's total electricity production came from renewable sources.
On the occasion, Swedish envoy said Pakistan's textile sector is an important part of the EU's exports and Sweden government can provide technical assistance to Pakistan for achieving renewable energy for the textile sector.
