Bollywood diva Sonakshi Sinha’s husband Zaheer Iqbal in a recent interview revealed that he wanted to elope with Sonakshi to another country to get married but because of the public scrutiny due to their interfaith marriage the couple had a ‘very intimate wedding ceremony’.

Zaheer confessed that he had thoughts, of eloping with Sonakshi abroad to get married and then return to India.

“I wanted to elope…. just bounce to the country and go somewhere, get married, and come back; but I got to know that a wedding is not valid in India like you can't go to Las Vegas and get married, it is not allowed”, he said.

Adding to that, Sonakshi said, “So that plan was canceled, and I always wanted a very intimate wedding. And Zaheer is okay as long as his most important people are there, which is our friends and family that were present at the signing."

The couple got married in an intimate ceremony on 23rd June at the actress’ Bandra residence.
