Federal Interior Secretary Azam Suleman Khan has taken early retirement and he will be appointed to the constitutional post of provincial ombudsman for four years.
Prime Minister Imran Khan has approved his retirement.
Azam Suleman Khan, a grade 22 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service, will retire as federal interior secretary on June 30. The Establishment Division has formally notified his retirement.
Azam Suleman Khan's appointment as Punjab ombudsman for a period of four years has already been approved.
Azam Suleman Khan has been serving as the interior secretary of Pakistan since April 2020. He was promoted to the rank of federal secretary in February 2017. Previously, he has served as chief secretary of Punjab and Sindh.
