Two million doses of SinoVac arrive in Islamabad

A special PIA plane carrying two million doses of the SinoVac vaccine landed at Islamabad International Airport on Tuesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to a statement issued by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), the two million vaccine doses were part of the planned contracted quantity purchased from China.

The NDMA is spearheading the purchase process of vaccines from the international market under the auspices of the NCOC.

These doses will be deployed to all vaccine centres across the country for which arrangements were already in place.

With the arrival of this consignment, daily average administering of doses across the country will be enhanced considerably.

A number of vaccination centres across Pakistan have been closed down and others have slowed down the process of administering the doses due to the shortage of the coronavirus vaccine.

The arrival of the second shipment from China on Tuesday will restore the vaccination process at may centres.
