Two drug addicts in Mianwali Thursday died due to extreme heat and unannounced load shedding while the government has issued a new health advisory to save the lives of people in the heatwave-affected regions in the country.
According to the 24News HD TV channel report, the temperature in Mianwali and its surroundings rose to a sweltering temperature of 43 degrees while the unannounced load shedding added to it.
The report said two unidentified dead bodies were found in the city, one near the District Headquarters (DHQ) hospital and the other from the area of Gulmeeri.
The corpses were transferred to the DHQ hospital and the doctor confirmed that both of them were drug addicts and passed away due to the extremely hot weather.
Following the weather reports, the Department of Health has issued a heatwave advisory and said a heat wave can raise body temperature to 106 degrees Fahrenheit in 10 to 15 minutes.
The DHO said a heat stroke can lead to death or permanent disability so citizens should avoid unnecessarily moving outside.
The DHO said athletes and people who work outdoors can suffer from heat waves and dizziness, headache, high fever, and chills are also the symptoms of it.
In the health advisory against the heat wave, it is instructed that the citizens should drink plenty of water and wear light-coloured clothes.
