The Punjab government of Punjab has increased the head duty and vend fee by 150% on the sale of liquor, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Thursday.
The Punjab cabinet approved a 150 per cent increase in locally produced liquor.
Punjab Excise Department had recommended an increase in duty and vend fee on beer.
The increase in head duty and vend fee will increase the revenue by millions of rupees annually.

The caretaker government also increased the quantity of liquor that can be obtained on a licence.
Now one permit will allow two bottles of liquor, 6 of wine and 40 cases of beer.
