A tragic accident occurred in Model Bazaar Joharabad when a boat-shaped swing collapsed, leaving numerous children seriously injured, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Saturday.
Rescue personnel promptly arrived at the scene, and the injured were rushed to DHQ Hospital Joharabad.
According to rescue sources, around 24 girls and boys sustained injuries in the incident, with several feared to have broken arms and legs. Three children were confirmed to have broken limbs due to the fall.
The accident was attributed to overloading of the swing.
Following the incident, Deputy Commissioner Zeeshan Shabbir Rana and MPA Malik Muhammad Asif visited the hospital to check on the victims and ensure they received the necessary care.
The Deputy Commissioner instructed the Medical Superintendent to provide all possible facilities to the injured.
A case has been registered against the Model Bazaar manager, and the bazaar has been sealed for all activities.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has taken notice of the incident and has sought a report from Commissioner Sargodha.
The Chief Minister directed that the best medical facilities be provided to the injured children and called for accountability and action against those responsible for the negligence.
