The Punjab government has decided to establish a Resource Centre for the Members of the Provincial Assembly (MPAs) in the Punjab Assembly Secretariat building, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.
According to the channel report, Rs19.48 million has been allocated for the resource centre from the annual development budget of the province.
The resource centre will be housed within the Law Department of the Punjab Assembly.
Its primary purpose will be to provide parliamentarians with training and awareness regarding parliamentary rules and regulations.
Previously, there was no formal training centre for the legislators, who often faced complications with understanding the laws.
The Law Department has prepared PC-I of the Resource Centre Scheme, which is included in the annual development program.
The centre will also feature artificial intelligence and chatbot capabilities to provide timely guidance regarding legislation.
