PM Shehbaz orders early completion of Forensic lab, Safe City and modern jail projects in Islamabad

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired a high-level meeting to review progress about ongoing projects which were aimed at improving law and order situation in Islamabad, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
During the meeting, the PM was briefed regarding the current law and order situation in Islamabad and Islamabad Model Jail, Islamabad Safe City, Federal Anti-Terrorism Department and Special Protection Unit.
PM Shehbaz was also briefed regarding national facility centers in Islamabad and K-9 unit established for the identification and tracing of drugs and explosives.
Addressing the participants, PM Shehbaz said the protection of locals and foreigners in Pakistan was among the top priorities of the state.
Prime Minister said negligence in maintaining law and order and protection of the citizens will not be tolerated.
Prime Minister also issued directives for inquiry into undue delay in the completion of Islamabad Model Jail. The PM said the project of Islamabad Model Jail should be completed as soon as possible keeping in view the requirements of modern times.
The Prime Minister also ordered the construction of a vocational training institute and a hospital in Model Prison. He added that Chinese experts should be consulted for the formation of Special Protection Unit.
Prime Minister directed to construct forensic lab according to the modern requirements in the Islamabad Safe City project.
PM Shehbaz told the concerned department that for all security projects in Islamabad, the recruitment of manpower should be ensured on the basis of merit besides the provision of technology as per international standards and modern requirements should be ensured.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Deputy Chairman Planning Jehanzeb Khan, Federal Secretaries and senior officers of relevant departments participated in the meeting.
