Gas crisis hit the port city Karachi as citizens face severe difficulties amid unavailability of the gas supply at mealtimes, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Some of the areas in Karachi that are facing massive gas shortages and low gas pressure are Lyari, Baldia Town, Orangi Town, Saddar, DHA, Punjab Colony, Moosa Colony, Hijrat Colony, Sultanabad, Landhi, Malir, Korangi and Faqeer Colony are some of the worst affected areas.
The gas supply has now been routinely disrupted in the morning and evening meal time, posing a serious economic challenge to Karachiites.
Having been left with no other option, people throng the local restaurants for breakfast early in the morning due to the ongoing gas crisis.
As per media reports, amid a worsening gas crisis in almost the entire Karachi, people adopted an ‘illegal ‘way to increase the pressure in their stoves by installing an air-pump device that runs on electricity, for improving gas pressure.
The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) said installing a device to increase gas pressure comes under gas theft.
