In their separate messages on the occasion of Pakistan Day, President Dr Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan have expressed their hope that the day is not far away when Pakistan will become an economically strong and prosperous country, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

In his message, the President said the demand of a separate homeland for Muslims of the sub-continent has proved to be politically correct over time.

He said that the persecution of Muslims in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir was a clear proof that the Muslim leadership of that time had clearly foresaw what was going to happen to the Muslims if they remained at the mercy of Hindu majority in undivided India.

In his message, the Prime Minister emphasized the need to stick to the principles of Unity, Faith and Discipline given by Quid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, and to rededicate ourselves to make Pakistan a truly democratic welfare state on the pattern of Riyasat-e-Madina.

He touted that his government introduced long-term reforms and took initiatives to end poverty and promote justice. Prime Minister Khan said the government's focus remained on the downtrodden segments of the society to provide them equal opportunities.
