Fortunate survivors of an unfortunate PIA plane

Two fortunate passengers have survived the PIA plane crash in Karachi, officials confirmed on Friday.

The national flag carrier flight No PK-8303 carrying around 99 onboard went down in a residential area of Karachi, minutes before landing at Karachi airport. Bank of Punjab Chief Zafar Masud and Engineer Muhammad Zubair luckily survived the plane crash.

Bank of Punjab President Zafar Masud was also on board the unfortunate PIA flight from Lahore to Karachi that crashed just before landing after engine failure. Zafar Masud has been seriously injured in the incident and has been shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi where he is out of danger now.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah inquired after the health of Bank of Punjab chief Zafar Masud, who miraculously survived, a provincial government spokesman said in a statement.

When the chief minister said “Murad is here”, the survivor replied “Thank you so much. God has been merciful,” the statement said.

Sindh Minister for Education and Labour Saeed Ghani also tweeted a picture with a survivor, a young engineer identified as Muhammad Zubair.

Moreover, provincial government’s spokesperson, Murtaza Wahab, confirmed in a Twitter message that two passengers onboard the ill-fated PIA plane miraculously survived the crash. He added that the persons were identified as Zafar Masud and Mohammad Zubair and ‘both are in stable condition.’
