Indian coronavirus variant reaches Pakistan thru wife of Indian High Commission staffer

Chances of transmission of the Indian virus to Pakistan have been enhanced as a test of a lady quarantined in the Indian High Commission is tested positive for coronavirus.

According to 24NewsHD TV Channel, the wife of a staff member of the Indian High Commission named Berjish arrived in Pakistan through Wagah Border on Saturday.

Some 12 other Indian diplomatic staff also entered Pakistan with her at the same time and terminal at Wagah Border in Punjab.

Pakistani immigration authorities with the help of the health department administered antigen tests of all the Indian people at Wagah Border.

The results showed that the lady who was a wife of a staff member was corona positive but the immigration authorities allowed her to go to Islamabad for joining her family at the Indian High Commission building there.

Anyhow, after reaching the Indian High Commission, she was quarantined at the resident for the next 14 days. Tests of other people who had travelled with her from India to Pakistan through the Wagah Border have been administered again.

It is worth mentioning that in India the daily pandemic death toll has been rising in recent days as cases spread into rural districts with poor health facilities.

India reported more than 4,000 deaths on a daily basis even as the numbers of news cases in its devastating new wave fell.

With the latest deaths, India's official toll has now risen to 283,248 behind the United States on more than 600,000 deaths and Brazil with about 440,000.

Pertinent to mention here that a new virus named Black Fungus was also surfaced in India as several victims of it had been exposed in the last two days.
