A worker of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), who was part of the mob that attacked the corps commander’s house in Lahore, has made some startling revelations about the involvement of the party’s top leadership in organising the violent protests of May 9, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

The accused identified as Jan Muhammad belongs to the Mohmand district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), and he has confessed to dishonoring the army uniform during the attack which was carried out under the guise of protest.

Several camps had been set up in Zaman Park, and Jan Muhammad was staying in Mohmand-Bajaur camp. He said that PTI Chairman Imran Khan had held a meeting with the party workers in the camps and directed them on what they have to do if he was arrested. “Our job was to save Imran Khan from being arrested,” he said.

He added that Sheikh Imtiaz had asked the PTI workers to march towards the cantonment area following the arrest of Imran Khan, adding that Ejaz Chaudhry, Yasmin Rashid, Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed and Aslam Iqbal were present on the occasion.

“Yasmin Rashid and Ejaz Chaudhary kept telling the workers to go to the corps commander’s house,” he stated.

He said that the same group which attacked the corps commander’s house had been involved in loot and plunder at the PSO petrol pump and army store.

He also confessed to picking up the shirt of the corps commander’s army uniform during the vandalism and making a video of himself after wearing the shirt.

“I put on the corps commander’s shirt and Hassan Niazi—a nephew of Imran Khan—grabbed the pants of the corps commander’s army uniform,” he stated and confessed to setting the shirt on fire later.

It is to be noted here that the accused had put on the shirt of the corps commander’s army uniform and stated in a video of himself: “They have crossed the red line. Look at this. I have brought this from his [corps commander] house.”
