Former PTI MPA Abdul Razzaq Khan Niazi has announced to quit the Pakistan Tehreeki-i-Insaf, denouncing his party for perpetrating the May 9 violence, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, the former lawmaker lashed out at his party, saying what the country’s enemy India could not have done in the past 75 years, the PTI people have done now.
“The Pakistan Army has done everything for this country. But the memorials of the martyrs were desecrated. Military installations were attacked and torched,” he added.
Niazi said that it was the Pakistan Army which put an end to the scourge of terrorism in the country.
“I decide to part ways with the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf,” the ex-MPA concluded.
Meanwhile, another former PTI MPA from Uch Sharif, Makhdoom Hassan Gilani, jumped the PTI ship over the May 9 incidents.
He made the formal announcement of his party renunciation decision during a presser in Khairabad.
Hassan Gilani was elected as a Member of Punjab Assembly from PP 250.
He consecutively won the Punjab Assembly seat for five times.
Gilani said, “Pakistan Army is our defender and we cannot tolerate its vilification. I can no longer remain part of the PTI after seeing the May 9 incidents. We cannot accept what the PTI rioters have done with the monuments of Shuhda and Army installations.”
The former MPA said that he would devise future course of action after consulting his friends.
Besides him, PTI senior Vice President, Uch Sharif chapter, Malik Asif Awan also bid adieu to his party.
