Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif visited Holy Family Hospital in Rawalpindi
She took a round of hospital wards and interacted with patients and their attendants. Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb and Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman accompanied her.
The CM took notice of paying low wages to labourers working on the New Block project and issued directives to pay them according to the Wages Act.
She was apprised of the problems being faced by the patients and their attendants at the public health facilities.
She passed orders to provide the attendants with proper sheds and electric fans to protect them from scorching heat.
She also reviewed the revamping project. She also examined the under-construction New Block and directed the C&W department to complete construction by June 30.
Separately, Chief Minister Maryam took notice of the torture of a seminary student by a cleric in Jaranwala.
She sought a report from the provincial police chief and directed authorities concerned to provide the student with the best treatment.
