LHC directs Additional Chief Secretary Home to decide on Khadija Shah's petition

The Lahore High Court Wednesday directed the Additional Chief Secretary Home to expedite the pending petition of PTI worker and fashion designer Khadija Shah regarding her detention orders under 16MPO, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Presided over by Justice Ali Baqir Najafi, the court ordered a prompt decision, stipulating that the Additional Chief Secretary Home submit their verdict by November 27.

The petitioner's lawyer, Barrister Sameer Khosa, has been instructed to appear before the Additional Chief Secretary on Friday.

During the hearing, Khadija Shah's husband, Jahanzeb Amin, and her sons were also present in court.

Amid the legal proceedings, concerns were raised regarding the lack of a copy of the Inspector General (IG) Punjab's reply in the contempt of court case.

Assistant Advocate General Ghulam Sarwar Nahang handed over the IG Punjab's reply to Barrister Sameer Khosa during the proceedings.

Advocate Khosa, representing the petitioner, emphasized the need for Khadija Shah to be produced in court and subsequently released.

Justice Ali Baqir Najafi questioned the petitioner's counsel, asking, "What else do you want?"

The court directed the Deputy Commissioner to decide on merit, with Sameer Khosa advocating for the DC's appearance in court to provide a statement.

The court suggested providing the facility of an alternative forum, considering it as a potential source of satisfaction for the concerned parties.

Expressing concerns that there might be an attempt to move Khadija Shah out of the province, the petitioner's lawyer highlighted this issue. In response, the court issued a notice to the Ministry of.
