Another case has been registered against Bushra Bibi, wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, in Bahawalnagar over a controversial statement.
The City B Division police registered the case on the complaint filed by a citizen, Asif who alleged that Bushra Bibi’s comments included false accusations against a former army chief, hurting public sentiments.
This marks the second case against her, following an earlier FIR in Gujranwala for similar reasons. Bushra Bibi made false allegations against former army chief, he complained.
Bushra Bibi has been accused of damaging the relations between the two countries after her video message two days ago.
The federal government vowed to launch an investigation yesterday. PM Shehbaz Sharif condemned the anti-Saudi remarks and said a proper investigation would be launched, as no one would be let damage Pak-Saudi ties.
Imran Khan took to X (formerly Twitter), claiming his wife’s comments were being misinterpreted. He stated, “Bushra Bibi’s remarks were deliberately taken out of context to involve our brotherly country, Saudi Arabia, in an unnecessary controversy. She did not mention Saudi Arabia at all.”
