A grand farewell ceremony was held to honor three distinguished medical educators—Prof. Dr. Tahir Rashid, Prof. Dr. Seema Mazher, and Prof. Dr. Ajmal Farooq—on their retirement after completing exemplary tenures at the Postgraduate Medical Institute (PGMI) and Lahore General Hospital.

The event, organized under the leadership of PGMI Principal Prof. Al-Freed Zafar, saw the participation of faculty members, MS Dr. Faryad Hussain, doctors, healthcare professionals, and the retiring professors' families.The trio was celebrated for their invaluable contributions to the medical field and presented with gold medals, shields, and lifetime achievement awards as tokens of appreciation.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Al-Freed Zafar emphasized the significance of a dignified retirement, calling it a great honor for any government employee. 

He praised the retirees for their dedication to serving humanity, noting that medical professionals find purpose in alleviating suffering and upholding their mission to improve lives.

Prof. M. Shahid, Prof. Farooq Afzal, Prof. Saima Ameer, Prof. Faheem Afzal, Prof. Shandana Tariq, MS Dr. Faryad Hussain, and other fellow teachers also addressed the ceremony. He expressed their best wishes for their future and hoped that they would continue their journey of serving the suffering humanity. 

Retired professors expressed their views and said that it was no less than an honor for them to serve this institution. 

They are leaving here with pleasant memories but we are here whenever the institutions need us. 

At the end of the ceremony, the retiring professors were presented with commemorative shields, given bouquets and sent off with prayers.
