Magesi, who played their first top-flight match in South Africa just two months go, stunned former African champions Mamelodi Sundowns 2-1 on Saturday to win the League Cup final.
South Africa international Iqraam Rayners gave overwhelming favourites Sundowns a 36th-minute lead in central city Bloemfontein with a low shot into the corner from just inside the area.
After facing relentless pressure in the opening half, promoted Magesi levelled on 48 minutes when Tshepo Kakora headed a cross into the net at the far post.
Sundowns constantly pressed to try and get back in front only to fall behind after 87 minutes when Delano Abrahams scored with his knee from close range after a corner.
"Our supporters played a key role. They rose early this morning and travelled hundreds of kilometres to back us," said Magesi goalkeeper and man of the match Elvis Chipezeze.
"Sundowns had a lot more possession than us, but we took two of our few chances to achieve a fairytale triumph," added the 34-year-old Zimbabwean shot-stopper.
Chipezeze was instrumental in the League Cup success. He won the man of the match award in each of their four matches to pocket 400,000 rand ($22,000/€21,000).
Magesi are based in northern city Polokwane and a squad coached by former South Africa midfielder Clinton Larsen consists mainly of veterans released by other top-tier clubs.
Rattled Sundowns now adjust their sights to the CAF Champions League group stage, which kicks off on Tuesday with the Pretoria outfit hosting Maniema Union from the Democratic Republic of Congo.
