A westerly wave is affecting upper and central areas while dry weather prevailed over most parts, however, rain wind/thunderstorm occurred in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa that decreased the temperature on Saturday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Heavy rain and hailstorm lashed Gujrat city while Jhelum continued receiving heavy rain.
In Lahore, westerly wave also turned the weather chill on. Punjab’s upper and central towns are also under strong westerly wave.
In Jhelum, multiple feeders tripped causing electricity load shedding.
Weather office also predicted rain with thunderstorm in Islamabad in next 24 hours.
Rainfall (mm) during last 24 hours: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Dir (upper 30, lower 14), Kalam 21, Chitral 12, Mirkhani 09, Saidu Sharif 06, Drosh 05, Malam Jabba 03, Parachinar 02 and Pattan 01.
Saturday’s lowest minimum temperature’s (°C): Babusar and Skardu 03.
Weather office predicted that westerly wave likely to persist in upper/central parts till Sunday.
Pakistan central weather department that on Saturday (today) cloudy weather is expected in upper/central parts of the country.
While, rain wind-thunderstorm is expected in upper/central Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir.
Hailstorm and snowfall over mountains are also expected at few places in upper districts.
Isolated heavy falls are also likely to occur in upper Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir during the period.
