With just two days to go for voting in connection with the no-confidence motion tabled against Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal in the provincial assembly, Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani and Defence Minister Pervez Khattak on Saturday reached Quetta to woo the ‘estranged’ members of the assembly so that the no-trust motion against the CM could be foiled, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Sources told 24News that both Sanjrani and Khattak had reached Balochistan Assembly Speaker Abdul Quddus Bizenjo’s home where they were holding meetings with the ‘disgruntled’ members so that they could be persuaded to give up their ambitions against CM Kamal.
The no-confidence motion had been tabled against beleaguered Chief Minister Jam Kamal Alyani in the Balochistan Assembly three days ago (Wednesday, October 20, 2021).
The motion was moved by Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) leader Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran.
Assembly Speaker Abdul Quddus Bizenjo, who was presiding over the session, said that 33 members of the House were in favour of the no-confidence motion.
Mr Khetran said that CM Kamal had no right to stick to power. He must step down, he added.
