Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has issued show-cause notices to several of its members for their alleged involvement in voting for the 26th Constitutional Amendment, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to PTI sources, these notices were issued after the party leadership decided to act against its parliamentarians suspected of violating party discipline. These members reportedly went missing during key voting sessions on Monday.
The members who have received show-cause notices include Senator Zarqa Taimur, Senator Faisal Saleem, MNA Zain Qureshi, MNA Riaz Fatyana, and Miqdada Ali Khan Baloch. These individuals are accused of either abstaining from crucial votes or engaging in behavior that raises questions about their loyalty to the party’s stance on the amendment.
The notices were issued with the permission of the PTI chairman, showing the seriousness of the situation.
According to sources within PTI, the party has provided these members with one final opportunity to clarify their positions.
They are required to submit written explanations and appear before an inquiry committee to present their defense.
