The Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan has raised the demand for removing Mufti Muneebur Rehman from the post of chairman of Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
He has become a controversial person, JUP leader Pir Mahfooz Mashhadi said, adding that the person for the post should promote interfaith harmony.
He called for posting an unbiased religious scholar be posted as he is responsible for adding fuel to the sectarian fire and instigating ethnical issues.
