A candidate of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for Union Council (UC) chairman was Friday arrested for allegedly harassing nurses at Hafizabad District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
“Rana Irfan went to the wards of the hospital and harassed nurses. He had come to the hospital on the pretext of attending to a party worker,” read the text of the first information report (FIR) against him.
The case was registered on the request of the medical officer. Nurses and paramedical staff of the hospital also protested against the incident.
They alleged that Rana Irfan often threatened them, claiming to be the central leader of PTI. The protesting nurses demand that the accused should be punished severely.
On the occasion, the medical superintendent of the hospital said that harassment of nurses, who served patients day and night, could not be allowed.
