Although immediately after receiving his transfer orders around three days ago, CCPO Lahore Ghulam Mahmood Dogar received a pat on his back from Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, who had even said that under no circumstances he would be relieved of his duties in the province, the Punjab government is still to write a letter to the Center to stop the CCPO’s transfer, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
Under the rules, it is mandatory to comply with the federal government orders within seven days.
And in the event of not following the orders, the Center could take further action.
Both Punjab and Center locked horns with each other after the federal government, which was not pleased with Dogar for registering cases against the PML-N leaders, directed him to report to the Establishment Division.
Each side insisted that it was on the right side.
