Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz directed concerned to take measures to promote the farming of vegetables in the province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
The Chief Minister expressed these views while presiding over a meeting on cooperative farming. She directed to provision of subsidies to the Vegetable Farm Group on seeds, fertiliser, drip irrigation, and solarisation.
During the meeting, it was decided that unseasonable onions and tomatoes would be cropped on two thousand acres of land in Punjab.
Participants of the meeting approved to start of Agricultural Machinery Rental Services. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif directed to ensure that wheat is sowing in all Punjab government’s agricultural land.
The Chief Minister also reviewed recommendations about “Transforming Punjab Agriculture Culture.”.
Besides Provincial Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, Provincial Minister for Information and Culture Uzma Zahid Bokhari and Minister for Agriculture Ashiq Hussain Kirmani were present at the meeting.
Chief Secretary Punjab Zahid Akhtar Zaman and Principal Secretary Sajid Zafar Dal were also present during the meeting.
