Federal Minister for Petroleum, Dr Musadik Malik Sunday visited Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Industry Group Co., Ltd in Shaanxi Province China, to explore enhanced cooperation between Pakistan and China in the fields of energy, petrochemicals, and sustainable industrial development.
According to a news release, Dr Malik was welcomed by Zhao Futang, General Manager of Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Group, along with senior executives. During the visit, the minister was given a comprehensive overview of the company’s operations, including coal mining projects, petrochemical processing plants, and advancements in clean energy technologies. Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Industry Group is one of China’s largest state-owned enterprises, with major investments in coal, chemicals, and new energy sectors. The visit aimed to strengthen bilateral cooperation, particularly in coal, and both parties engaged in productive discussions about potential partnerships, such as coal-to-chemicals technology and joint ventures. Representatives from the Thar Coal Board, Sindh Engro Coal Mining Company, and Sindh’s Energy Department were also present at the meeting.
